IDLEYLD PARK, Ore. (AP) - Douglas County authorities say a man who was reported missing fell to his death.
Sheriff’s spokesman Dwes Hutson says the body of 27-year-old Robert “Patrick” Brislan was discovered late Monday afternoon. He was face down in the water at the edge of the North Umpqua River.
Investigators believe the Roseburg man was walking along the North Umpqua Highway on the other side of the guardrail when he fell some 50 feet down an embankment.
The Roseburg News-Review reports (https://is.gd/JqcPb1 ) Brislan had left a home the night before to walk to a friend’s house.
He was reported missing after it was learned that he didn’t go to work. Hutson says friends and relatives retraced Brislan’s steps and found the body.
Firefighters responded, with some rappelling down to the victim.
