HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - The DeSoto County School Board is forming a committee to explore ways to make its work more transparent to the public.

At the recommendation of board president Milton Nichols, The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1munQRd) the board members agreed Tuesday to form a committee made up of board members Stephen Dodd and Ann Jolley along with board attorney Keith Treadway, school system representative Keith Williams and a representative of the system’s technology department.

The committee will be charged with exploring suggestions made by Dodd, who asked that the issue be included on Tuesday’s agenda.

Dodd proposed posting the agenda for meetings online, where the public would have easy access, and then posting the minutes after the meeting.
