PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) - A Paterson, Wash., man has been charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of a 7-year-old girl killed in a March 19 auto accident in Hermiston, Ore.

Court documents obtained by The East Oregonian newspaper (https://is.gd/lOUpgI ) show the Umatilla County district attorney also charged 29-year-old Jesus Mores Nava with assault, hit-and-run and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Oregon State Police are investigating the crash that killed Taleeya Maria Roquez and sent her mother to a Portland hospital.

Umatilla County Circuit Court records show Nava had a conviction for driving under the influence in 2008, and that he pleaded guilty in 2010 to menacing two females.

Nava remains in county jail. Bail has been set at $3 million.
