ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) - Jim Jeffords, a member of the National Corvette Museum Hall of Fame and longtime board member of the Road America race track, has died.
Jeffords’ death was announced Tuesday in a statement from the race track. His age was not immediately available.
Jeffords appeared in the first race at the road course in 1955. He had been one of the vice presidents on the track’s board of directors since 1958.
He also competed in the Sports Car Club of America’s C production class, as well as the World Championship race in Venezuela and at Nassau Speed Weeks in 1957. Jeffords was inducted into the Corvette Museum Hall of Fame in 2002.
