PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Some parking prices are going up at Portland International Airport.

The Port of Portland announced Tuesday that short-term and long-term parking garage rates will increase $3 per day beginning April 1.

Short-term garage daily maximum rates will jump to $27. Long-term garage daily maximum rates are increasing to $21.

Vehicles parked in the garage before April 1 will pay the current rate when leaving.

The Port of Portland says it hopes the rate increases encourage more use of the airport’s economy parking lot, easing demand on the parking garages that are often full mid-week.

The economy lot will remain $10 per day with the seventh day free. Existing hourly parking garage rates of $3 will remain the same.
