BEDFORD, Texas (AP) - A North Texas man sought after a woman he dated was found stabbed to death at the apartment they shared has been captured in Louisiana.
Bedford police say 26-year-old Robert Atlas was caught early Tuesday asleep in his car in a parking lot near Shreveport, La. Online jail records do not list an attorney for Atlas, who was held without bond pending extradition to Texas on a capital murder charge.
Lt. David Smith has said Atlas and 27-year-old Tracy Anderson dated in the past and lived together. Smith had no immediate information on whether they were still a couple.
Police on Sunday discovered Anderson’s body at her apartment after her mother raised concerns about not being able to contact her daughter. A warrant was issued Monday for Atlas.
