GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office vehicle caught fire during a pursuit of burglary suspects after it got stuck in a ditch.

Sheriff’s spokesman Joaquin Enriquez says undercover units were doing surveillance training in Glendale when they saw a burglary in progress at a home Tuesday afternoon.

The deputies chased three suspects on foot and took one into custody. The other two suspects got into an SUV and drove away.

Enriquez says another unit spotted the SUV and tried to catch up to it, but the unmarked MCSO vehicle got stuck in a ditch and caught fire.

The suspect vehicle got away.

Enriquez says no deputies were injured in the vehicle fire.

Glendale police have assumed the burglary investigation and are trying to catch the two remaining suspects.
