DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a woman found dead in a suburban Philadelphia prison cell suffered a heart attack during heroin detoxification.

The Bucks County coroner’s office told The (Doylestown) Intelligencer (https://bit.ly/1jq75q5 ) that 49-year-old Marlene Yarnell of Bensalem also had a heart attack last year while in the county jail.

Dr. Joseph Campbell said Yarnell was alive when Bucks County prison guards checked on her Saturday morning, but she was found dead several hours later.

Campbell said an autopsy determined that Yarnell, a heroin addict, had heart disease, an enlarged heart and high blood pressure which contributed to her death.

County spokesman Christopher Edwards said Yarnell was on detox watch and was taking medication aimed at easing withdrawal symptoms.
