COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (AP) - A 14-year-old suspected of killing his father and younger brother in their Coeur d’Alene home has been charged with first-degree murder.

Coeur d’Alene police say the teen, Eldon Samuel III, killed his father, Eldon Samuel Jr., and 13-year-old Jonathan Samuel Monday night.

The suspect has been charged as an adult, and could face up to life in prison if convicted.

He used a handgun, shotgun, knife and machete in the attacks, police said.

The family had recently moved to Coeur d’Alene from California.

Samuel III is currently being held at the Kootenai County Public Safety Building.
