FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - Organizers of the Tanana Valley Fair say the summer event this year will feature some changes, including new rides.
The fair is set to run Aug. 1 to Aug. 9.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (https://is.gd/RTgzy4) says new events will include a rodeo and a demolition derby. The rodeo is scheduled to take place the first two days of the fair. A demolition derby is set for Aug. 8.
A new carnival also is planned, with different rides to be provided by a new operator.
The fair’s general manager, Joyce Whitehorn, says the new carnival attractions will be listed on the fair website.
This year’s theme for the fair is “Peonies From Heaven.”
