LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles County supervisors are offering a $20,000 reward in the case of an inmate who escaped from a downtown LA jail nearly two weeks ago.
Supervisors unanimously approved the reward Tuesday for information leading to the capture of Christopher Lee Brown, a convicted burglar who walked out of Twin Towers Correctional Facility on March 12 just hours after he was sentenced.
Investigators found that Brown escaped through a release and reception area by posing as another inmate, and his absence wasn’t noted until a count later that night.
Brown had been sentenced to more than four years in prison for stealing laptop computers from the Alhambra office of a hospital chain.
Brown has no known address but has previous arrests in Orange, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.
