WINDERMERE, Fla. (AP) - Detectives say the suspects in the fatal shooting of an on-duty Windermere police officer left behind suicide notes.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports Monday that 18-year-old Brandon Goode and 17-year-old Alexandria Hollinghurst left behind suicide notes in Polk County.

Windermere Police Officer Robert German was fatally shot early Saturday after stopping the two teens on a road in the Orlando suburb.

The bodies of Good and Hollinghurst were found a short distance away. Authorities say the teens appeared to have committed suicide.

Officials say 31-year-old German worked for the department for five years. His department says visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Northland Church in Longwood. Graveside services and burial will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sanford. Services are open to the public.
