LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office says a driver ran over and killed a 26-year-old man who apparently was lying in the middle of the road before dawn on a foggy morning.

A news release says Justin J. Brown of Lake Charles died about 5:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of West Tank Farm Road and Tuna Lane in Lake Charles.

It’s described as a hit-and-run. But authorities say it was so foggy that investigators don’t know whether the driver saw Brown.

The car that hit him is described as a white, older model call. Investigators say it did not stop.

They’re asking anyone who knows anything about the accident to call the sheriff’s office.
