YORBA LINDA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a teenage skateboarder was killed before dawn after he was struck by a minivan in Yorba Linda.

Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock says 16-year-old Logan Wells was riding a skateboard on a busy Orange County road before dawn Sunday when he was hit by a Kia minivan.

Hallock says the 61-year-old driver of the van called 911.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Hallock says the driver was not injured. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
