LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Pulaski County sheriff’s officials say a county jail inmate jumped to his death from the second floor of a unit inside the jail.

Lt. Chris Ameling told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1dne68N ) that 40-year-old Richard Plant of Little Rock died at a local hospital where he was taken Friday night.

Plant was arrested Thursday on charges of second-degree domestic battery, two counts of robbery, two counts of interfering with a law enforcement officer and fleeing. A police report on the arrest says Plant assaulted his mother and threatened his father and forced them to write checks to him.
