PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The Multnomah County sheriff’s office says an inmate has died at the jail in Portland.
The sheriff’s office said Sunday he was found unresponsive around midnight in a single cell and his injury appeared to be self-inflicted.
Jail staff and emergency responders were unable to revive him.
The sheriff’s office says the inmate had been in custody for almost a year, and he had no other incidents in jail.
