PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A soldier who was previously sent to prison for a road-rage assault in Portland has been sentenced again for molesting a young child.
The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/KcaHDD ) Aaron Scott Altabef of Salem was sentenced to 25 years for the molestation. The 37-year-old Altabef was found guilty of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sex abuse of the girl after a February trial.
Investigators say Altabef molested the girl in November 2012 while awaiting trial for the May 2012 road-rage incident. In that confrontation, Altabef had yanked a 75-year-old man out of his car and punched him several times. He served nine months for that attack.
Altabef served almost a year in Afghanistan with the Oregon Army National Guard. He resigned days before going to prison the first time.
