WAVELAND, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality has issued a water contact advisory for the Waveland beach between Oak Boulevard and Favre Street.

MDEQ spokesman Robbie Wilbur tells The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1ghvAUb ) the beach is not closed, but swimming in the area is more risky, as water may have high bacteria levels.
