MADISON, Minn. (AP) - A coroner has concluded the student-athlete from Dawson who went missing following a party at a farm in Lac qui Parle (lak-kwah-PAR’-uhl) County died of hypothermia.

Eighteen-year-old Michael Anyasike (an-ah-SEE’-kay) was reported missing 12 hours after sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an underage drinking party March 9 at a farm near Madison. Authorities say Anyasike was among those who fled the party when deputies arrived.

Sheriff’s officials say Anyasike’s body was found about a mile from the farm. Coroner Ralph Gerbig determined that alcohol was a contributing factor in the teen’s death.

Anyasike was a key part of Dawson-Boyd’s football team, which went 12-2 last year.
