VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Police say two people were hurt when a small airplane with a flight instructor and a student pilot aboard crashed on a building rooftop in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong told The Vicksburg Post that it happened Friday around 3:50 p.m. He said the ultralight plane crashed on the roof of an industrial building off of U.S. Highway 61.

The instructor did not appear to be seriously injured. Armstrong said the student was taken away on a stretcher with possible back injuries. The identities and conditions of the two were not immediately available. There was damage to the roof but there were no reports of injuries to anyone in the building.

Armstrong said the plane was returning to the nearby Vicksburg airport when it crashed.
