Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval narrowly missed being sideswiped by a deer on his walk to work Wednesday.

Mr. Sandoval, a Republican, was walking from the Governor’s Mansion to his office in the state Capitol Wednesday as part of the fifth annual “Nevada Moves Day” sponsored by the state Department of Transportation, the Nevada Appeal reported.

A deer hopped over a short fence and missed Mr. Sandoval by a few feet during the event intended to “highlight the benefits of walkable communities, increased physical activity and reduced traffic congestion.”
