MINOT, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota officials have toured the new Minot middle school that was rebuilt after being damaged by floods in 2011.

Gov. Jack Dalrymple and U.S. Sen. John Hoeven on Thursday visited the new Erik Ramstad Middle School. The school was damaged when the Souris River flooded in June 2011.

Officials say the project cost nearly $37 million. Funding came from federal, state and local sources.

The new building is about 25,000 square feet larger than the original facility and can accommodate 720 students.

The record flooding in summer 2011 caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage.
