TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A winter storm warning has been issued for parts of northeastern Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa says the warning will remain in effect through Monday for Adair and Delaware counties in Oklahoma and Washington, Madison, Benton and Carroll counties in Arkansas

Forecasters say a very cold airmass has settled over northeast Oklahoma and northwestern Arkansas. A winter weather system was forecast to move through the region later Sunday.



Winter precipitation will develop by midday and continue off and on throughout the day. Precipitation will begin as freezing rain and change over to sleet.

Another batch of precipitation is expected late this afternoon and tonight. Forecasters say up to three inches of snow and sleet accumulation is expected. Ice accumulation will be one-tenth of an inch.
