NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The Storm Prediction Center says portions of southwestern Oklahoma and western north Texas could have thunderstorms with sleet through mid-afternoon.

The forecasters said Sunday that the enhanced sleet showers would occur in an area from southeast of Clovis, N.M., to northwest of Oklahoma City through 4:30 p.m.

Forecasters say 3 to 5 inches of snow and sleet could accumulate across the northern tier of counties in Oklahoma, with 1 to 2 inches in a band from near Clinton to Tulsa.

Sleet and freezing rain could occur in the rest of the state Sunday.

Temperatures are also bitterly cold and traffic conditions are expected to worsen.
