CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell says the state’s disciplinary agency for attorneys has dismissed ethics complaints against 10th Judicial District Attorney Steve Bebb.
Harwell was among state lawmakers filed while complaints last year asking the Board of Professional Responsibility to investigate allegations that he misused his authority.
In a statement sent to The Chattanooga Times Free Press (https://bit.ly/1otThcO ), Harwell said she disagrees, but respects the panel’s decision.
Bebb did not respond to requests for comment.
No information about the board’s decision was available. Its actions are confidential under Tennessee Supreme Court rules.
