White House press secretary Jay Carney refuted reports Tuesday that he’s interested in the job as the next U.S. ambassador to Russia.
“No, I have a great job that I love,” Mr. Carney said when asked about the rumors.
The job in Moscow is open, with former U.S. ambassador to Russia Mike McFaul having left the post recently.
Media reports on Monday speculated that Mr. Carney, a student of Russian culture and history, was lobbying for the appointment.
