TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Some parts of the New Jersey shore have 7 inches of fresh snow on the ground from a late-winter storm.
By midmorning, skies were clearing and the winter weather warning that had covered the central part of the state was canceled. A warning remained in effect in five southern New Jersey Counties.
The most snow in New Jersey according to the National Weather Service’s trained spotters was 7.5 inches in Manahawkin.
Totals ranged from about 5 inches in some far-flung Philadelphia suburbs to less than 2 inches in Freehold.
Classes were delayed or canceled at schools across the southern half of New Jersey.
