OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The executive director of a botanical garden and urban park in Oklahoma City isn’t laughing about an apparent St. Patrick’s Day prank that left the water green.
Maureen Heffernan with the Myriad Botanical Gardens tells the Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/1eMa0lj) that cleaning up the green water will cost thousands of dollars.
Staff with the gardens discovered the colorful water about 5 a.m. Monday. They are still looking for the people responsible.
Heffernan says a sample will be taken to see if the dye will affect the fish, turtles and birds that call the water and gardens home.
She says a chemical will be used to dilute the dye, and the green water will then be drained and replaced with fresh water.
