WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Government offices in central and southern Delaware are closed after a winter storm dumped several inches of snow across the state.
The National Weather Service reports snowfall totals of less than inch in parts of northern Delaware to more than 7 inches in parts of Kent and Sussex counties by Monday morning.
Schools throughout the state were closed or operating on delayed schedules, and state offices in Kent and Sussex counties were closed.
Officials encouraged residents to avoid driving if possible, and troopers responded to dozens of crashes and disabled vehicles as snow fell around the state.
