TULSA, Okla. (AP) - An arraignment has been postponed for two men accused of shooting five people last year at a Hmong New Year’s festival in Tulsa.
Court records indicate Boonmlee Lee and Meng Lee will now be arraigned March 27. They had been due in court Monday.
Each has pleaded not guilty to one count of shooting with intent to kill and five counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. A judge amended one assault and battery with a deadly weapon charge against Meng Lee to assault with a deadly weapon.
Prosecutors think one victim was likely targeted at the Oct. 12 festival because he mediated a dispute involving the suspects’ family that was not resolved in their favor.
Up to 4,000 Hmong live in Tulsa.
