CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine (AP) - Snowboarders are packing their bags and heading home following a competition hosted by one of the all-time great snowboarders from Maine.

The Sugarloaf Banked Slalom event was hosted by two-time Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott. In the fourth year of the annual event, snowboarders tested their speed and agility in a banked snow course for bragging rights and medals.

Slalom is an event originally for skiers. Sugarloaf says it is one of the first locations to host such a competition for snowboarding.

Top snowboarders were expected to attend the event that took place at the mountain where Wescott honed his abilities.
