LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Forecasters say spring-like showers will turn into winter-like snow in parts of Arkansas.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock says showers and thunderstorms will push east from Oklahoma Saturday night. The storms could bring significant rainfall with much of the state getting more than two inches of rain. The heaviest rainfall will be in northwest Arkansas overnight.
A cold front will follow the thunderstorms, and accumulating snow is possible in northern Arkansas. Forecasters say up to two inches of snow is likely in north central Arkansas. Northeastern Arkansas may seem brief periods of snow or light sleet, but no significant accumulations are expected.
A wind advisory is in effect Sunday, when gusts of up to 40 mph are expected across Arkansas. Precipitation is forecast to end by Monday morning.
