PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter may be comfortable on stage, but he’s leaping into new territory with an upcoming appearance.

Nutter plans to make a cameo Sunday when the Pennsylvania Ballet performs Coppélia (co-PALE-yuh), the comedy about an inventor and his life-like doll.

Nutter is hardly playing against type. He will play the role of the mayor who greets villagers in Act One.

There’s no need to search for a replacement at City Hall during the show’s run. Nutter’s ballet career is slated to be one-day only.
