PHOENIX (AP) - An off-duty security guard at a Phoenix bar has died after being shot several times by a man after a closing-time altercation.

Phoenix police identify the victim of Friday’s shooting as 33-year-old Jesus Rafael Lozano-Vidal.

They say Lozano-Vidal was visiting the Mi Ranchito Dancing bar in central Phoenix where he works as a security guard.

After the bar closed at 2 a.m., police say Lozano-Vidal helped employees clear out the patrons when he noticed a man was trying to leave with a bottle of beer.

Lozano-Vidal told the man he couldn’t take the bottle and a fight ensued involving the man and his two friends, all in their 20s.

Police say one of three men shot Lozano-Vidal, who later died at a hospital.

The suspects fled and are being sought.
