LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) - Authorities in Florida say they’ve arrested a man who escaped from the military prison at Fort Leavenworth in 1977.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 59-year-old James Robert Jones was arrested Thursday in Deerfield Beach, Fla., where he was living.

Jones was serving a 23-year sentence for premeditated murder and aggravated assault when he escaped from the maximum-security prison 37 years ago. He was one of the Army’s 15 most wanted fugitives.

U.S. Marshals senior inspector Barry Golden told KSHB-TV (https://bit.ly/1iJeMCV ) that when his office ran a prison photo of Jones through a database, it matched a photo on a Florida driver’s license issued in 1981, with the name Bruce Walter Keith.

Golden says Jones will soon be extradited back to Kansas to finish his sentence.
