RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Dorothy Adomako had 23 points and 16 rebounds as Cosby capped a perfect season with a 53-46 victory over Stonewall Jackson-Manassas in the Virginia High School League’s 6A girls state championship Friday night.

Adomako, the Gatorade state player of the year, scored nine points during a second-half run that took the Titans (26-0) from a one-point deficit to a five-point lead. The Raiders (22-7) got back to within 49-46 on Nicole Floyd’s 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining, but Cosby held on.

Jocelyn Jones had 14 points for Cosby. Tyra Whitehead had six points, 12 rebounds and three steals as the Titans won the rebounding battle 42-30.



Floyd led Stonewall Jackson with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Genesis Parker had 11 points and Rachel Burns added 10.
