NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A judge has reduced the bail for a New Orleans man accused of striking and killing a 6-year-old boy last month in a hit-and-run accident.
The New Orleans Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1nkpDtv ) Magistrate Judge Harry Cantrell on Tuesday lowered the bail for 22-year-old Arthur Toledano from $275,000 to $175,000.
Toledano is accused in the death of Shaud Wilson, a first-grader at Akili Academy, who was struck while crossing a busy street on his way to a bus stop. Surveillance footage from a nearby supermarket showed a Honda Crosstour, allegedly driven by Toledano, braking only briefly after the crash before continuing on.
Toledano was arrested a few hours later and booked with manslaughter, attempted manslaughter and hit-and-run. He has allegedly admitted involvement in the crash.
