CHICAGO (AP) - Airlines have canceled 760 flights at Chicago airports after a snow storm moved through northern Illinois.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said Wednesday afternoon that O’Hare International Airport had more than 680 canceled flights. Delays at the airports were averaging two hours.

At Midway International Airports there were about two dozen delays of about 20 minutes. There were nearly 80 flights canceled.

The winter storm hit the area overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Before the storm moved on, high winds sent snow whipping around and dramatically reduced visibility.
