Sen. Barbara Boxer, California Democrat, said Tuesday that a full sanctions and aid package for Ukraine may not be finished until next week, when the Senate is expected to be on vacation.
“My understanding is we’re not there yet with the package,” she said on MSNBC. “I’m thinking we’ll probably have that done by next week.”
In the meantime, she said senators are also working on a resolution, a nonbinding piece of legislation used to express the sentiment of one chamber but does not force action.
“What we might see this week is a resolution condemning what Russia did and saying we stand with the Ukrainian people,” she said.
