HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) - The DeSoto County Board of Supervisors will advertise again for bids on expansion of the county jail after an error in earlier advertising for bids was discovered.

The Commercial Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/1kHxzmP ) the board had voted Feb. 3 to accept a bid of $8,469,000 from Okla.-based Flintco to build a 264-bed addition at the jail.

But supervisors were told there was an error in publication of the advertisement for bids, and the bid process would have to be repeated.

County Administrator Vanessa Lynchard says she will confer with project consultant Michael Childress, principal with the Evans Taylor Foster Childress architectural firm in Memphis, on details of advertising for new bids.
