GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP) - A third woman who was sexually assaulted on the campus of Lander University is suing the school for failing to keep her safe.
The lawsuit accuses the Greenwood school of negligence and breach of contract for failing to protect its students and enforce safety regulations.
Authorities say two former Presbyterian College football players tied three women up and taped their mouths during the 2012 attack. The lawsuit says Lander officials should have made sure doors to the apartment complex were locked.
Two men pleaded guilty to criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping and are serving time in prison. Lander has previously denied similar allegations in lawsuits filed last year by two other women.
