BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Birmingham police are investigating the slaying of a man shot while sitting in his SUV.
Al.com reports (https://bit.ly/1k9RoQL ) police were called to the scene in the Roosevelt City community late Sunday. Lt. Sean Edwards, a Birmingham police spokesman, says the victim was sitting in his vehicle in his grandfather’s yard when someone walked up and shot him.
Edwards says a family member heard the shot and went outside, prompting the shooter to fire once toward the house before fleeing on foot.
The victim was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital. Police did not immediately release his name.
It was the second fatal shooting reported to Birmingham police Sunday. A man earlier in the day was shot multiple times in the head at the city’s Harrison Park.
