LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Another dismal wintery forecast is on the horizon for Arkansas.

The National Weather Service has expanded a winter storm warning so that it covers the northern two-thirds of the state. Freezing rain and other wintery precipitation is in the forecast for Sunday.

The weather service says the most intense freezing rain is likely in a band from east of Little Rock into east central or northeast areas of the state. Totals could range between a half and three-quarters of an inch of ice.

Total precipitation, including melted snow, is expected to be between 1 and 2 inches across the state. Part of northern Arkansas could get as much as 2 inches of sleet.

The southern part of the state is under a winter storm watch.
