PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Clackamas County sheriff’s spokesman says a man sought in a woman’s January abduction from a Milwaukie, Ore., tanning salon is suspected of robbing a bank in Eugene.

KATU-TV reports (https://is.gd/UwQpBc ) that Lt. Robert Wurpes said the suspect in a Friday afternoon bank robbery at a Columbia Bank branch in Eugene is 49-year-old Kelly Vern Swoboda.

Police allege that Swoboda abducted a woman from Palm Beach Tan in January, threw her into his purple van and drove off. She fought back and jumped from the moving vehicle, suffering serious injuries.

Swoboda was convicted twice for bank robbery, in 1994 and 2006.

In the Eugene robbery, police spokesman John Hankemeier said the robber gave a note to a teller and left the bank with money. He fled in a dark green Chrysler van.
