ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Ten members of the New York National Guard are headed to Africa to participate in a marksmanship competition.

National Guard officials say five Army Guard and five Air Guard members make up the team that will compete in the South African Army Combat Rifle Competition starting Tuesday and running through March 15.

Six team members are assigned to units based in western New York. The other four are from Westchester, Long Island, and the Albany and Syracuse areas.

Meanwhile, 60 members of the Harlem-based 369th Sustainment Brigade will be in Cameroon this month to oversee logistics support for a military exercise with troops from the U.S. and several African nations.
