PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - The mother of a 16-year-old boy who police say was shot with a BB gun and cut with a box cutter in an attack involving four other teens says his injuries are healing but he won’t return to high school.

His mother tells The Oregonian (https://is.gd/ZOwwGD ) the boy plans to join the Job Corps.

All five teens attended the same southeast Portland high school.

According to court papers, one of the teens carved a swastika into the victim’s forehead in the Feb. 10 attack after a 15-year-old girl lured him to a shed.

The boy’s mother says he shakes when he talks about what happened.

She says the forehead wound was deep enough to leave a scar so the family will take the boy to a plastic surgeon.

An accused 14-year-old will be prosecuted in juvenile court on assault, kidnapping and robbery charges, while three older teens will be prosecuted as adults.
