TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - It was unseasonably hot around most of Arizona last month, especially in Tucson.

In fact, meteorologists say it was the second-warmest February on record for the southern Arizona city.

The average temperature for the month was 60.7 degrees in Tucson.

The hottest February on record for the city came in 1957 with an average of 61.1 degrees.

Last month saw several days of record high temperatures in Tucson.

National Weather Service meteorologists say the main cause of the unusually warm weather was a large high-pressure system that has been sitting over the western United States and the Pacific Ocean off the west coast.
