PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a motorcycle was apparently traveling at a very high rate of speed when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a vehicle early Sunday in Portland, killing the rider.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the 2 a.m. crash at Southeast 29th Avenue and Powell Boulevard. Police say the driver did not appear to be impaired and cooperated with investigators.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
