HAMLIN, W.Va. (AP) - One vote has broken a tie between two Democratic candidates in a House of Delegates primary race.

Media outlets report that the Lincoln County Commission declared Gary McCallister the winner in the 22nd District primary race on Friday. The commission was acting as the board of canvassers.

McCallister and incumbent Delegate Joshua Barker were tied following the initial canvass of the May primary results. McCallister picked up one vote in the recount.

McCallister tells The Charleston Gazette (https://bit.ly/1oKxb99 ) that the results show every vote counts.

Delegate Jeff Eldridge had won the other Democratic primary slot in the two-seat district. The district encompasses parts of Logan, Putnam, Lincoln and Boone counties.
