Graham to Israel: Stay as long as you need to stay

Sen. Lindsey Graham said Israel should fight as long as it needs to in the current conflict with Hamas in the Middle East.

“It’s not the number of casualties that determines the moral outcome here,” Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “More German soldiers got killed than American soldiers.”

At least 420 Palestinians and seven Israelis have been killed in the nearly two-week-long conflict, according to the Associated Press.

“If it was left up to Hamas, thousands of Israelis would be dead,” he said. “To the Israeli government: do whatever’s necessary to protect your people; stay as long as you need to stay.”
